With a history spanning almost 400 years, the Old Kings Head can claim to be one of the oldest buildings in the unspoilt Charter Town of Broughton-in-Furness (Cumbrian Village of the Year 2002).
Only a short drive from Coniston Water, Wordsworth's Duddon Valley & Wainwright's Southern Fells, this Family run Inn offers Guests a warm welcome in comfortable surroundings and makes an ideal base for discovering the outstanding beauty, bustling market towns and rich cultural heritage of the Southern Lake District
The Hotel has a spacious bar including a dining area and a lounge with a real fire. The bar provides a range of cask-conditioned ales as well as a fine selection of wines & spirits. For guests we have a comfortable residents’ lounge, off the main bar area. Outside is a beer garden for sunny days and a children's play area where the kids can burn off some energy and you can get some peace & quiet!

The Old Kings Head is renowned for its excellent food which includes both traditional & more adventurous dishes all of which are freshly prepared to order. Nothing comes out of a packet here!
Luncheon & Dinner are served daily and dependent upon the season, we also serve Breakfasts, Morning Coffee & traditional Afternoon Teas.
The Old Kings Head is a very popular eating place, especially at weekends and during the holiday season so to be sure, please book your table in advance.

We have been awarded the Cask Marque for our Cask-Conditioned Ales which always include one from a local Cumbrian Brewery. Within our wine cellar we’ve everything from lip-smacking, fruity reds to crisp, bone-dry whites with many award winning wines, all at sensible prices.
