Fresh Produce, Well Prepared

It’s as simple as that!

Here at the Old Kings Head Hotel we use local produce in the preparation of all our dishes, wherever possible.  Our meals are always freshly and carefully prepared in our kitchens, using lovely ingredients and always to order. This takes time - but as we’re sure you will agree,

good food is worth
the wait.

In order to keep the quality high, we maintain a small menu made up of everyone's favourites and add to this a number of special dishes, which change regularly in order to make the most of whatever is best at the market on the day. You’ll see these dishes listed on the Specials Board in the Lounge.

Bar, Lounge, Restaurant, al Fresco

The choice is yours!

We serve meals in the lively bar area, in the cosy, log-fired lounge or the convivial atmosphere of the restaurant. On fine days there’s the chance to enjoy your meal in the sun in our beer garden and kids play area.

We can cater for any number of diners but suggest large parties and special occasions ring before hand to book.  At busy times of the year and at weekends it’s a good idea for everyone to pre-book.

Wherever you choose to dine and whatever the occasion, you can be assured that we make every effort to provide you with fantastic food, great value and a memorable dining experience.

A Brief Taste of our Menu

Our everyday menu includes such favourites as bangers & mash, fish & chips, roast duck, luxury seafood pie and ham & eggs.  For starters and light lunches we serve homemade soups, pates and grilled goats cheeses among other dishes.

There’s a whole range of tasty sandwiches available, along with a daily selection of bar snacks.

On the Specials Board you’ll find all that is at its best and in season, including fresh fish, local meats and delicious vegetarian dishes.

The connoisseur will find our freshly cooked, homemade chips a most welcome change from the norm!
